Gnome 3 Failure to load F16

I am new to the forums, here, so if this is a repost of a solved problem, I apologize in advance.


I was given an HP Pavillion a600n a few months ago. I've put 2gb of RAM, wireless card, and Fedora 16 on it. When I boot Fedora 16, I first saw this message:

I've done nearly everything I can for it, but have had no luck - tried everything from attempting to . Here are the stats from my computer's system:

I'm at a crossroads, debating if Gnome3 is even worth it at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See if you have the mesa-dri-drivers-dri1 package installed which contains the unichrome_dri.so driver.

If not, then do this

su -
yum install mesa-dri-drivers-dri1

Thanks for the help. Being a newb to this is not the easiest thing

I have ran the suggested install....still no luck. Is there anymore information that I could supply to help?

Look through /var/log/Xorg.0.log for any errors (EE) or warnings (WW). Examine the output of the glxinfo command, specifically the server glx and client glx information, and the OpenGL information.

Another thing I am not sure of is a list of which video hardware is blacklisted in the gnome-shell. I know the intel 8xx cards are, not sure about your via unichrome.
