Really
I thought Beefy Miracle was the stupidest name possible, but They actually have topped it with the F18 name.

Very true! Particularly when such 'interesting' emails were being sent to mailing list!

Hahahaha, this post says it all
Though I am thankful for this name because it gave me the first real laugh of the day
It is utterly ridiculous... so bad that it's....good..?

Re: It's Time For Another Episode of NAME THAT FEDORA RELEASE (Robyn Bergeron)
Spherical Cow,
I like this new name much better then 'Beefy Miracle'. I was quite surprised to see that some people out there had similar views and had actually stood up and voiced their opinions. I felt helpless to cause change and so just let it happen. I'm glad there is hope out there.
I don't find anything clever or funny about animal exploitation and suffering. The name 'Beefy Miracle', and more so, the play on words that accompanied it in so many of the F18 write-ups disgusted me. Is what these animals go through already not enough?.. Anyway's, like you, I just don't want to hear it.
Also, please don't be thinking we (Vegans/Vegetarians) are just trying to get a message out there to promote veganism when we can hardly get away from seeing meat and dairy ads on a daily basis. When was the last time you saw a TV commercial advertising vegatarianism. Or even a vegetarian product?
To put it into perspective, think about a commercial or adversed product that irritates you the most. Now think of having to be confronted that advertisement every day, several times a day, for the rest of your life. Now think about that advertisement then becoming the new name for Fedora. Would you not feel a little aggravated?
I'm not saying eating meat is wrong. But I am asking others who do it to be respectful about it. I think it's only fair.

Re: It's Time For Another Episode of NAME THAT FEDORA RELEASE (Robyn Bergeron)
By way of a pragmatic solution to the problem of advertising ... several years ago my tolerance point was finally reached and I banished the one-eyed peephole-into-paradise to the bargain table at a yard sale. Most cable/broadcast television these days is basically an electronic sewer line ... and it runs in the wrong direction.
For those not willing to take that step (which is an incredibly liberating experience, by the way) my tier two advice would be to locate the off button ... and use it. Frequently.
About the eating of critters? Weeeell, that one creeps close enough to the realm of political agendas that we'll just leave it at the recognition that some do, and some don't. I pass no judgments either way. But we don't need to debate the subject here.

+1- I did the same thing 16 years ago, haven't watched TV once since then. One of the best moves I made- like you said, incredibly liberating. I don't know where I'd find the time to now.

Spherical Cow kinda opens up some possibilities for F19, such as "Oprah Winfrey" or "Roseanne"... LOL

Accurate or not, that one was just a little on the mean spirited side, don't you think?
