Hi all
I'm very new to Fedora, so please be gentle with me.
I installed F15 yesterday from a CD, and was advised today on these forums to upgrade to F16, which I did. After a few problems, I ended up with an install that didn't work that well, so did a
su -
yum clean all
yum update
and ended up with an install (over kernel 3.3.0-4.fc16.x86 that worked except that had an overscan on my monitor (which is a 22" widescreen HDTV) with no easy way of compensating for it.
As the previous install (over kernel 3.1.0-7.fc16.x86) didn't have this problem (nor did F15), I tried booting with the 3.1 kernel, and hey presto, no overscan. And TBH, it's working very well!
So my question is this: does anyone know why it's not OK with the 3.3 kernel, but works OK with the 3.1 kernel? And if so, is there a fix, or do I wait until the next kernel comes round? (Actually, that's 3 questions!)
Here's my gear, in case you need to know:
