After preupgrade, system is still f15

I went through the preupgrade procedure to get from fc15 to fc16, but the system still seems to think it is fc15:

> cat /etc/redhat-release

> cat /proc/version

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Apparently, the disk is RAID. News to me. The preupgrade user interface guided me through a reboot without indicating there was a problem. I upgraded from the DVD successfully.
