After preupgrade, system is still f15

I went through the preupgrade procedure to get from fc15 to fc16, but the system still seems to think it is fc15:

> cat /etc/redhat-release
Fedora release 15 (Lovelock)
> cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.6.42.12-1.fc15.x86_64 (mockbuild@x86-02.phx2.fedoraproject.org) (gcc version 4.6.1 20110908 (Red Hat 4.6.1-9) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Tue Mar 20 16:30:08 UTC 2012

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.

Apparently, the disk is RAID. News to me. The preupgrade user interface guided me through a reboot without indicating there was a problem. I upgraded from the DVD successfully.
