[SOLVED] New update ruins current working munin environment

Had munin working fine and then I ran a yum update which installed:

munin-1.4.7-1.fc16.noarch.rpm
munin-common-1.4.7-1.fc16.noarch.rpm
munin-node-1.4.7-1.fc16.noarch.rpm

The next day I had 1500 email in my consolidated root mail for all of our systems. I have munin turned off right now and have not solved the problem with it. Anyone have a solution to this? I ask without a lot of details because the same exact thing happened on all my f16 munin nodes.

previous working versions where:

munin-1.4.6-5.fc16.noarch.rpm
munin-common-1.4.6-5.fc16.noarch.rpm
munin-node-1.4.6-5.fc16.noarch.rpm

Hi,

the last Munin-Update "kills" your and my plugins-directory. Have a look in /etc/munin/plugins

I hope you have got a backup.

Yeah this happened on all my munin nodes. And this was actually lucky as the fix was easy for all systems but one. What I had to do to fix this is uninstall munin-node and then reinstall it. I then grabbed the plugins symlinks with:

tar -C / -cvf munin-node-plugins.tar.gz /etc/munin/plugins/

Then I made my config changes and got the node working.

Then I just dumped the tar onto the other munin-node systems with:

tar -C / -xvf munin-node-plugins.tar.gz

And then all was working again. Thank all that is good as the emails to root where filling things up...
