New AMD Catalyst Proprietary Display Driver - Linux x86 & Linux x86_64

Dont know if anyone else saw but a new driver was released yesterday (4/25/12)

Link to Driver
Code:
support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/linux/Pages/radeon_linux.aspx
Link to Changelog
Code:
www2.ati.com/relnotes/Catalyst_11.11_Linux_Installer.pdf
Most importantly this caught my eye..

Compatible Operating Systems
The latest version of the AMD Catalyst proprietary driver is designed to support the
following Linux distributions:
.. Red Hat® Enterprise Linux suite
.. Novell/SuSE® product suite
.. Ubuntu®

Hopefully this will fix all the issues many people have been having on Fedora and other RHEL Distros

I had moved to the one distro i hate the most.. ubuntu, only because the drivers worked.. now i am going to change over to F16 and try out these new drivers!

it was like this the recent years. CentOS and Scientific Linux is based on RHEL 6 and Catalyst works fine on these distros. But new Fedora releases are pretty different from RHEL 6.

But I guess Fedora 16 is probably supported. Just make sure to install kernel-devel, kernel-headers, gcc and all other packages you need...

I use Fedora 17 and don't need the proprietary driver for my IGP Radeon 3200. The default Radeon driver is for me better with this card. For newer cards than radeon 5xxx I would probably stick with Fedora 16 until Fedora 17 is supported by Catalyst drivers.

Actually rpmfusion does have a working Catalyst 12.3 driver for Fedora 16.

So where are the real release notes for Catalyst 12.4? The code you posted is just an old installation guide for Catalyst 11.11
