Fedora 16; Firefox gets error on embedded flash video

On accessing a particular web page on the Delcamp.com forum, the Youtube videos embedded in the posts disappear and dmesg records the following error;

npviewer.bin[6179] trap int3 ip:7f238524d313 sp:7fff6e6d8f80 error:0

This only started happening a few days ago.

This is a classical guitar forum with online classes and the videos are just beginning guitarists sharing experiences for feedback. Not all pages cause this behavior but one page that consistently does is here;

http://www.classicalguitardelcamp.co...65117&start=30

After the page loads and before accessing any of the videos, dmesg shows an error has already occurred. If my rusty knowledge is correct, int 3 is a software interupt.

I am running firefox 12.0 installed by yum.

I have disabled all the Firefox addons except for the Shockwave Flashplayer. The npviewer which is part of the nspwrapper...rpm package should not even be running as far as I know.

I did a 'yum reinstall' of nspwrapper. No joy.

Thank you in advance for any light you can shed on what's happening here.

Best regards,
Bob G.

You don't need any plugins to play youtube videos.

Just click on the "Youtube" link under the videos. They play fine with HTML5 ;-)

Re: Fedora 16; Firefox gets error on embedded flash video

This isn't a problem with youtube videos but with flash. Here's another site that has similar problems:

http://blogs.thescore.com/footyblog/page/2/

This page has a number of youtube videos that exhibit the same problem described by Bob G. but part way down there is also an embedded audio stream that does the same thing.

Dan.

PS. You might want to try Chrome as it doesn't seem to have the same problem...

The problem was with the nspluginwrapper. Apparently The upgrade of Flashplayer meant there were no more 32 bit plugins and the wrapper was lost. All I did to fix the problem was remove nspluginwrapper.

yum erase nspluginwrapper

Looks like that did the trick for me too.

Thanks,

Re: Fedora 16; Firefox gets error on embedded flash video

Fedora 16 64bit, Firefox 12 and had HUGE problems with Flash 11.

Deleted nspluginwrapper (both 32 / 64 bit) and now I have no problems with Flash.

Kent Knudsen
