I downloaded the OpenOffice.org suite and installed it. All went fine but now it neither shows in applications nor in the office applications tab. Pl help

Re: Open Office in FC16

Fedora 16 has Libreoffice which is better than Open Office anyway.

Re: Open Office in FC16

Look for /opt/openoffice.org/program/soffice or /opt/openoffice.org3/program/soffice.

Re: Open Office in FC16

Stick with LibreOffice unless you have a specific need for OpenOffice.org. LibreOffice is a better-maintained fork of OO.o and should be installed by default.

If you really need OO.o and have successfully installed it, it'll probably be somewhere in /opt as RupertPupkin said. Otherwise "locate openoffice.org" (in a terminal) should find it.
