Hello i am turning to the forum for help and suggestion due to the fact that i searched the whole internet and cant seem to get any RSS feeds working.
I simply wanted to get an app that would load the latest rss feeds.
First i tried "newsbreuter" - however i always got a "couldnt connect to server" message
Then i tried "canto" - got "url open error" and no feeds were loaded
After a few hours of frustration i turned to a GUI RSS Reader
liferea - after updating all rss feeds, they got a little X as icon and reported "unable to connect to proxy"
I went to the network manager and set the proxy settings to NONE
Even turned off the firewall
After updating again i got the same error message.

Some time ago i configured a http proxy and a socks5 proxy, and i believe that it somehow stuck somewhere on my system and now i am experiencing these problems.
Can someone point me to the right direction ? Which file on a linux system has the proxy configurations in it so i could edit it accordingly ? Or is it an enviroment variable ?
Thanks in advance for your responses

Ok i feel like a dork here.
The None option didnt seem to do the trick
It seems like
removing the http proxy from the proxy settings solved the problem.
(Or using a proxy that would be online because this one wasnt pingable either)
