Strange issues since upgrade [SOLVED]

Totally a diehard FAN of FEDORA but only this time totally got disappointed with list of bugs and errors since upgrade to F17, i don't know may be its me. I can't shutdown my laptop and some of the applications like VLC & Empathy keeps crashing all the time.

Please if any of the experts can help me solving the issue below.

and i have noticed that my laptop fan has also started running fast and heating a bit.

To fix the shutdown problem, try running 'dracut -f' as root, then reboot. You'll still get the panic the first time but after that it should be OK.

I did "dracut -f" but there is no output. Terminal freeze for sometime and backs to its normal state, than i restarted but again during the restart the panic screen appears and i have to keep holding my power button to switch off and than switch it on again.

Thanks Rupert, you were right, it disappeared in some restarts but still some applications are being crashed till i don't restart. But i will create another topic for that. For now i am closing this, thanks for your support
