Unhappy updated rh9 to fc3

I had Win2000 and RH9 installed in my computer. I had working multiboot in windows (NTLDR) and also LILO installed in RH side. Few time ago I updated RH:s kernel. After that
RH wouldn't start. I didn't fix it then. JEE, JEE

I taught, that installing FC would solve the broblem. I choose Update-option to save my
previous settings. When update process ended, it didn't ask to create a bootdisk. And I couldn't boot FC. I booted FC rescue mode and created a file to boot from windows but it didn't work: kernel panic (no init available). I tried also make a bootdisk by mkbootdisk -command. But only got different kernel panic.

I made another update to install grub loader. But it didn't make any differene: nothing installed because kernel wasn't uptaded.

Can someone help me to get things right.

Another question:

I have asus laptop with winxp installed. There isn't any floppydrive. How should I make multiboot (win and FC). Is Grub OK?

Thanks!
