Any ideas on this?
Well I didn't forget to update the source

http://cvs.rpmfusion.org/viewvc/rpms...1.7&view=patch

Or the spec

http://cvs.rpmfusion.org/viewvc/rpms...1.7&view=patch

So this means ATI have screwed up.

Everything works fine though. Hardware acceleration is good and glxinfo reports the AMD driver. I'll post if I find any problems.

I'm facing exactly the same problem on a HD6310 with Kernel 3.4.4-3.fc17.x86_64 and xorg-x11-drv-catalyst-12.6-1.fc17.x86_64 installed.
There's a fix mentioned here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/25519...ing-the-driver.
Haven't tried it yet, but it should do the trick, as strangely the watermark is the only thing that seems not to be working - everything else working as it should.

Better temps, and better power management.
Did you have to tweak anything in Catalyst Control Center or it just works better immediately?

I managed to install the driver, from RPM Fusion, then I managed to remove the watermark too Yay so far!

But then I want to tweak some options of the driver so I run aticonfig --initial and reboot. Upon reboot the Xserver doesn't start. Only if I delete the xorg.conf (from tty2) I can start the X server again. But then I can't use aticonfig because there's no xorg.conf
Any tips about that?

Re: Driver Ati Catalyst on Fedora 17 (4250)

I have an onboard 4250 HD card and I have the proprietary drivers working...

Uninstall all the kmod packages that were installed (if you tried kmod-catalyst), and reboot just to be safe...sorry about the uptime.

I tried posting a link to the driver that works but this site won't let me...I'll figure it out.

EDIT:
Ok. I've tested on kernel-3.5.0-2.fc17.x86_64 but it gave me an error with DKMS. Just working fine on kernel-3.4.6-2.fc17.x86_64
Thank you.

Re: Driver Ati Catalyst on Fedora 17

Hi, new to Fedora and wanting Catalyst for my media box (XBMC) so prefer the xvba supported version .. some questions:

1. How do I install that version
2. In ArchLinux installing catalyst drivers automatically removed ati xorg ddrivers and
dependancies, can yum do the same, or do I have to remove the ati driver manually like the original poster had to do ..

Thanks.

Re: Driver Ati Catalyst on Fedora 17

So, it looks like Catalyst for legacy chips has been packaged for Fedora 17.
https://ask.fedoraproject.org/questi...container-4887
Will it be available for Fedora 18 as well?
