I tried :

nolapic : all works fine except the second CPU
acpi=off : no battery monitor and no second cpu
acpi=off noapic : same result
acpi=force noapic irqpoll : does not boot anymore
noapic : does not boot.


I never achieved to work with 2 cpus
I google for SMP motherboard not detected on macbook, and I did not find the solution

You could boot a Fedora 17 live CD and see if it finds the SMP, that way you don't have to wipe your existing installation and just try it out.

As it is on a macbook with an EFI system instead of a BIOS. I install grub-efi, but I do not know how to use it ?
