Hi, I installed the new Fedora17 64 bit and to do so needed to add acpi=off to kernel argument. Installation was fine afterwards. I installed in a dual-boot system with windows 7 being the other boot option. Everything seems find when logging in to Fedora. When powering off using the normal commands, it hangs with the blue f logo on the screen (or tilted infinity sign). This is a repeatable problem and it occurs whether or not the laptop is plugged in or on battery. I have to hit the power button to power off the laptop. On power-up, I do not see any error messages.
I looked at /var/log/messages and saw this sequence of events (I skipped some).
jun 8 00:57:42 Caught signal 15, shutting down normally.
