Photo Enhancing Software

I have a security system that uses h.264 The picture quality could be better and was curious to know of any photo editing software out there that could clean up h.264 snapshots to make them a little less blurry. My boss is complaining how they cannot make out license plates and certain people as well.

Re: Photo Enhancing Software

Hello
you could give fotoxx a try, it's available in the repos.
You're never going to get that csi/hollywood clarity you see on films/tv, you can only do so much with with the original copy, a higher resolution on the recording device would help.
You can try different methods to make a number plate more readable like making the image negative, inrceasing the contrast and so on, a fair bit of trial and error required

Re: Photo Enhancing Software

lol ya I know that, I think "futurama" had a joke about that, Zap wanted to zoom in and make the picture not as blurred.

Anyways, I am also curious to know the difference between a TVL and h.264 (probably going to ask for a h.264) to encrease picture quality a bit.
