Fedora 17: does not boot Fedora from CD

Hello!

My components: processor : Intel Core 2 duo E7400
RAM : 4GB DDR3
Graphic card : ATI Radeon HD 4830

I downloaded two Fedora 17 versions from
The Fedora 17(x86_64) 64-bit and 32-bit(i686) version.
I burnt both image files to CDs.
Verify was successful.
Before that, I created Fedora virual machine on VirtualBox.
Then I inserted 64-bit ver. Fedora 17 CD and started installation.
And nothing. Nothing happened.
I inserted 32-bit version and started installation.
And it works.
I installed this version, but i want 64-bit version.
I don't know why it doesn't boot.
I tried configured Boot priority to CD as a first device.
Then I applied it and restart. And it booted Fedora 17 64-bit.
But why it didn't boot in virtualbox???

And sorry for my english, i am just student.

I believe you should enable hardware virtualization in the BIOS for the 64-bit guest to work on the Virtualbox.

See this page for more details/explanation - 64-bit guests on virtualbox

On Intel machines this is called Intel VT or Vanderpool Technology. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtualization_Technology

Do you have a 64 bit version of windows 7 and did you install a 64 bit version of VirtualBox?

Re: Fedora 17: does not boot Fedora from CD

In BIOS, I have't got option Hardware virtualization or something like this.

I've got a 64-bit version of Win 7.
I don't know if I installed 64-bit version of VirtualBox.
Where I can find out which version I have got ?????

Your Virtualbox install sounds fine to me. And based on Intel website, your processor is definitely virtualization capable.

Just to make sure - you checked you BIOS right?

Re: Fedora 17: does not boot Fedora from CD

I checked user manual and there's nothing about Hardware Virtualization.
Download user's manual for motherboard of version E4139.

Re: Fedora 17: does not boot Fedora from CD

Ha - I have 2 64 bit DVDs - one boots fine on my laptop, the other does not boot at all. How stupid of me - the one that boots got burned to a 4.7GB DVD; the other non-booter to an 8GB DVD ... which my older laptop drive can't read!! LOl
