I switched soundcards....I switched an ISA for a PCI so that there would be no conflicts with my video card. That worked out and now downloaded trailer videos play fine with mplayer and xine. Thing is that mplayer and xine won't stream audio now while xmms does. MPlayer appears to be playing something (it does stuff on the screen), but I hear nothing. Xine connects to the stream, aborts, and gives this error:
bash-3.00$ xine high.pls
This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.3.
(c) 2000-2004 The xine Team.
xiTK received SIGSEGV signal, RIP.
Aborted
WAV files play fine with play file.wave
xmms streams pls files
mplayer and xine play downloaded video
mplayer and xine won't play streamed audio???
I checked my /etc/modprobe.conf file to make sure the were no remnnants of my other soundcard lurking around-they are all gone.
Any ideas why mplayer/xine don't play streamed sound?
