QLA2342 Driver tuning

Hello,

I've installed a QLogic QLA2342 into my Fedor Core 3 based machine. The driver appears to work pretty well but I would like to adjust a few parameters that QLogic under Windows and Solaris usually allows you to adjust (timeouts and the like). Can somebody tell me where in the system I can find these parameters?

I have some QLA2344 cards in a FC3 machine. I've had a few difficulties. Look around on this forum a bit and you can find my old threads.

Some parameters may be settable in the file /etc/modprobe.conf
I don't have any details about which parameters, except that "failover" does not work with the current FC3 kernel module (I am at kernel 2.6.10-1.770_FC3 with qla2300 driver v8.00.00b21-k)

I encountered a 2TB limit on my RAID array. This seems to be the case under both the i386 and x86_64 distributions of FC3.
Bugzilla bug #150991
(status still listed as NEW)

QLogic has applications (graphical Sansurfer and text-oriented scli) available on their web site, but these did not work with my version of device drivers. Ask them about it and they'll tell you they only support RedHat and SuSE, and their stuff for RedHat presumes a 2.4 kernel even though RHEL4 has been out for over a month. QLogic was working on some beta drivers v8.00.02 to restore failover operation; I couldn't get them going at the time I needed to stabilise my configuration a month or more ago.

Oh, and if you look around the QLogic website for those applications, sometimes the terminology '64 bit' refers to Itanium instead of AMD64. Check carefully what you are downloading.

Currently, I tweaked my RAID arrays to be just under 2TB, am running without failover redundancy, and cannot use the QLogic configuration applications. Other than that, they work great.

Best of luck.
