Unhappy Problem with PCMCIA on Dell Latitude C600

Just loaded FC4 on a Dell Latitude C600... laptop had been working fine with RH9.

I'm having problems with the PCMCIA slots; the system does not detect cards being inserted. I've read other messages in this forum, and Google'd, but so far have not found anything useful, except seems like many people are having similar problems.

# lspci
00:03.0 CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments PCI1420
00:03.1 CardBus bridge: Texas Instruments PCI1420

# cardctl ident
Socket 0:
no product info available
Socket 1:
no product info available

The card happends to be a "Belkin F5D6020" 802.11b adapter, and it did work with RH9. The laptop is dual-boot, so I can report that the same hardware works fine with WinXP too.

Thanks

My Dell C400 has exactly the same problem. My solution has been to use a USB wireless card and an external modem, and just forget about the pmcia for now.

This link may shed some light on it. if you solve it, please eamil me at rcswitzer@earthlink.net
