Trouble configuring ethernet card on a Laptop

I bought a laptop recently and decided to set up a dual boot with Fedora Core 4 and windows XP. Both OSs run fine, the only problem I have is getting Fedora to connect the internet/the router for DHCP purposes. FC picks up the WLAN card that I have after I installed everything I needed, iwconfig brings up the wlan0 card and its properties. However, I simply want to connect using eth0 to my router. This is where I have my problem, I can not figure out how to configure FC or my card to obtain an IP adress etc etc.

Have you looked at 'neat' command via the console or from the menu
Applications > System Tools > Network Device Control

I know this may sound obvious, but not sure what you have tried. I'm new to FC and networking.

You can look at my post 'Set up key on wireless PCMCIA card - FC4'. It may give you a few hints on files to look at.

Maybe post some more details and you might catch someones attention on a particular point.
All the best
