Help with linux rescue

I messed up my /etc/hosts file
fedora kept giving me an error while it said
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost and when i booted it would give me a gnome error and force me to click ignore, and it would suggest changing hosts to l"ocalhostlocaldomain"
ok so i tried that and fedora gets stuck trying to load sendmail now.
what is a text editor i can run to edit my hosts file back from rescue mode without gedit, and what should I make it say? I have no network just one computer on a cable modem.

vi /etc/hosts

to edit the file press 'i'

after you are done hit escape and type ":wq"

hi thanks for the reply serdar. I actually got back into the graphical interface by pressing I to go to interactive loading, and not allowing sendmail to load. So i fixed the hosts file back how it was but still dont have a clue what to make it say!

I get this error "Could not look up internet address for localhostlocaldomain.
This will prevent GNOME from operating correctly.
It may be possible to correct the problem by adding
localhostlocaldomain to the file /etc/hosts."
Right now my hosts file says
# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost

edit* found the answer here http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/sho...ighlight=hosts

As I know of, but i am not sure if you are using host name other than localhost your hosts file should be like

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost your_host_name

on my system it is like this;

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost Lain
