    cpu and memory usage

    Hi All,
Just installed a net install last night if 4.91. Been using Slackware and am very happy with it but wanted to come back and try the distro that I started my linux journey out on. I started in December the month or just after core 1 hit the shelfs with their book and cd. Anyway can anyone tell me if it is just me or the new yum that is causing this problem. I notice that with nothing on but my computer that fedora is using 230mbs of my 512 mb ram? Also when I run yum check-update my cpu is at 100% and my browser or anything else I try to do will not work until yum finishes? Is this just me ot a glich somewhere.

    Thanks All,
    tb aka fibster

what application does use 100% cpu? check it with 'top'!
The software required «Windows 98 or better», so I installed Linux.
