Re: ibus 1.5.6, can't set language preference order or default language

Thanks for the suggestion. This seems to be for console keymaps and is not the same as ibus. Anyway, mine seems to be configured correctly but ibus still uses Chinese by default when I login.

Re: ibus 1.5.6, can't set language preference order or default language

Yes, I know how to switch the languages, but it's annoying to have to do this every time I login. Is there a way to change the *default* language?

ibus 1.5.6, can't set language preference order or default language

Hi, I've been using ibus for ages and it works fine, but with the recent 1.5.6 update, it seems to have decided a language list order for me and I can't change it. Specifically, it has Chinese...

Re: coreutils mv, cp, rm outputting weird single-quotes

Thanks, unicode_start fixes it. But is there no way to go back to the old behavior? It just feels strange to have non-ASCII being printed out by such basic commands. What if I'm in a recovery...

coreutils mv, cp, rm outputting weird single-quotes

Anyone else seeing this? I'm using Fedora 18 on two machines and they both exhibit this behavior.

On CentOS 5, I get the expected (old) behavior:
$ /bin/cp -v a b
`a' -> `b'
(notice the quotes...

No, the stuff after the * is not ignored. For example, if you say "ls *.txt" you'd expect the stuff after * to not be ignored. (Trivia: in DOS before NT, the stuff after * on either side of the dot...

Re: filename wildcards

I would like to know the answer to this as well. I can reproduce on F13 and CentOS 5:

GNU bash, version 3.2.25(1)-release...

Re: appending a number at the end of filenames in a Directory

Easy way:

To add a 3 to the end, do "rename .mp .mp3 *.mp"
To remove the .mp3.mp3.mp3, do "rename .mp3.mp3.mp3 .mp3 *.mp3.mp3.mp3"
