Firefox Starts in Offline mode

I know this is a little problem with Fedora 10, I have seen reference to it on the net, and searched these furums, and have not found a fix. Every time I call up Firefox, it is in offline mode, and I have to manually click File/Work Offline to get online again. Is there a cure for this? I have looked through about:config, but didn't see anything with "browser," or "offline." This is frustrating to say the least.
