Public Folder will not go away!

The 'Public' folder in my home directory keeps being recreated, after I keep deleting it. Is there anyway to make it go away forever?

Public is one of the XDG folders - there's a script in /etc/X11 somewhere if I recall correctly that you can edit.

Go to System>Preferences>Startup Applications, look for "User folders update" and un-check the box.

Or you can edit ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs and comment out the ones you don't want.

You can also search for xdg-user-dirs or something like that and remove the package.
