Xfce - Somes apps can't start

I installed xfce fedora 15, some apps can't start or take a long time to start, like catalyst control center (sometime start, sometime no) , ibus (take 3-5s delay), crossover games register (can't start)...
anybody had the same issues and resolved it. Please help me, thanks

Re: Xfce - Somes apps can't start

I'm a (happy) user of the F14 Xfce Spin and am still undecided about whether to upgrade to the F15 Spin. On F14 Xfce, I have not experienced any of the problems you describe, so unfortunately I can't offer good advice based on firsthand experience.

However, in case you don't receive any replies here in the Fedora Forum, I would like to suggest a Plan B: the Fedora xfce mailing list. Some of the Fedora Xfce developers (such as Christoph and Kevin) participate in it, the atmosphere is friendly and it is a low-traffic list. If you register for it, someone there might be able to help you.

Information on the mailing list is available here:

Another thought (which you may have already considered): Are you sure that you installed from a good .iso? Did you check the sha1sum / md5sum, installation medium, etc.?

There are instructions for verifying your download here:

Fedora 20 (LXDE Spin) // Registered Linux User # 442201

AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.8 GHz, 4 GB RAM, Seagate Barracuda 320 GB HD, Nvidia GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 integrated GPU, Samsung SH-S222L DVD-RW

Try running the applications from a terminal? See if there's any output?

Feel free to post on the mailing list as well...

Re: Xfce - Somes apps can't start

BTW, LXDE works without trouble on F15 and it is functionally identical to XFCE. It also reacts noticeably faster on my little netbook. I do not know why - it is a dual core with 2 GB RAM so it has enough oomph, for these things not to matter, yet LXDE is clearly superior.
