Need help with SCSI emulation

I'm using Fedora 15 version.

My laptop has an ATA/ATAPI controller that supports the CD-ROM ATA device.

I want to perform a SCSI emulation with the cdrecord terminal command; therefore,
I can perform the necessary functions of CD/DVD burning.

Any questions?

Re: Need help with SCSI emulation

What is the output of "ls -l /dev/{hd,sd,sr,sg}*"?

Unless your optical drive shows as a /dev/hdx, you're already there. Modern libATA-based ATA drivers should show optical drives as pairs of /dev/srx and /dev/sgx, which work as if SCSI from user-space. Even with the old /dev/hdx drivers, I don't think SCSI emulation is necessary with later versions of cdrecord.
