turn off session restore?

I have installed FC16 with XFCE, love it, have set everything how I like it.

but can't seem to stop it restoring any open applications when I restart? can't find a setting for it anywhere, and it annoyes me.

everything else is going smoothly, even having a hybrid MBR / GPT winxp / fc16
