    How to disable display manager

Hello. I apologize if this question was already asked here and I just didn't see it. But can someone please tell me how to disable the display manager? I have GDM at the moment, and I prefer to use startx from the command line to start my sessions with .xinitrc.

I have searched Google and found a post from 2008, which explains how to disable the display manager using inittab. But, as I understand it, inittab is deprecated in Fedora 17 and systemd is used to start services at boot. I'm a bit unfamiliar with systemd, so I would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction at least.

    Thank you,
    jas

Yes. If you want to change the default runlevel in Fedora 17 which uses systemd, see this page.

Another useful link would be this page for general admin items ... Hope this helps.
