HELP: drivers for Conexant Audio & Modem

So I installed FC3 on my laptop, which is a Compaq v2140us. According to XP, it has a Conexant audio AC-Link soundcard and a CXT (Conexant?) SoftV90 modem. I've found modem drivers, albeit not free ones... But my soundcard is jacked up. It was detected (I forgot the name Fedora gave), but every few minutes, a message pops up about how it couldn't be initialized and a CPU overload. So can anyone help me out with this? I'd much appreciate it.
