Logitech Webcam & sound card conflict / Fedora 7

I've seen a lot of posts on this subject... I have a USB Logitech Webcam with integral mic on my PC, which I believe causes a conflict with soundcard detection. Certainly when I blacklisted the USB audio device in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist the soundcard started working:

    /etc/modprobe.conf:

    Code:
    alias scsi_hostadapter pata_via
    alias ath0 ath_pci
    options snd cards_limit=8
    alias snd-card-0 snd-emu10k1
    options snd-emu10k1 index=0
    alias snd-card-7 snd-usb-audio
    options snd-usb-audio index=7

    # snd-emu10k1
    alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss
    alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
    alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
    alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
    alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss
    /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist:

    Code:
    # USB Sound Driver - hopefully remove this one day
    blacklist snd-usb-audio
I also have a separate logitech mic for better sound capture, but no sign of this anywhere.

Anyone have good suggestions for getting this all working?

    Thanks!

I have the same problem. My webcam is a Microsoft vx3000 which is same as the logitech. Hope we can find the
solution. I, too, had to usb blacklist as you did so I could hear my sounds.

    Hi all,
I have a Microsoft VX-1000 and I had a similar problem until I change the usb port I had plugged my webcam. I'm sure it seems silly but it worked and it's simple to try.
