Partitioning possibly not yet working properly in F25 Alpha

So, I tried the alpha server net install today. I went to install it on an almost unused laptop, figuring I would delete the current F24 on it.

However, in partitioning, oddly enough, it gave me a choice of deleting "unknown" partitions (FreeBSD UFS) and didn't seem to see any of the Linux partitions. It would have installed on some free space in an extended partition but I couldn't get it to see the /dev/sda1 I wanted it to see.

I haven't filed a bug or even written testing, because I don't really have the time to test this on other machines and with other versions, nor have I seen anyone else mention it yet, but thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone else had a similar experience.

Well, to follow up, posted on the testing list--Adam says that's not expected and asked me to file a bug.

Re: Partitioning possibly not yet working properly in F25 Alpha

Did you check mark the disks you wanted to use? I have several disks and I selected them. Below, anaconda shows me an option to explode view each of my selections. so often select a swap partition and biosboot from a second disk. From my empty partition I allocate /home, /, /var and /boot.

If you use gparted or other software does it show multiple partitions within your selected disks?

Finally, what were the partition formats for each Linux partition?

Re: Partitioning possibly not yet working properly in F25 Alpha

The disk was checked--it would show existing space (and partitions) on the disk, just not ones that were used by Linux installations. Fdisk and parted readouts are shown in the bug, fairly standard though. The only oddity perhaps, being that there's an extended partition to contain various Linux installs then a primary for a BSD install.

Re: Partitioning possibly not yet working properly in F25 Alpha

In case someone comes across this... as mentioned on the bug report, the developers can't reproduce it. It might just be an edge case, using MBR instead of UFI with a FreeBSD system installed, not using GPT on FreeBSD. We're not sure, but no one else seems to be having the issue.
