NVidia backlight adjustment not working

I have Fedora 24 installed with the RPMFusion NVidia drivers and it's working great. However, the brightness control is not working at all. The fn keys do not change it and if I move the slider nothing happens. I'm running this on an Asus G55VW with an NVidia 660M. Is there a guide or some settings I should add manually? I've had no luck getting the brightness to change and it seems to be set on high now.

Make sure your asus related laptop modules are running/loaded:
Quote:
lsmod | grep asus
asus-laptop
asus-wmi
.......
Quote:
ls -l /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/platform/x86/asus*

-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 10396 Aug 26 13:01 /lib/modules/4.7.2-201.fc24.x86_64/kernel/drivers/platform/x86/asus-laptop.ko.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 2800 Aug 26 13:01 /lib/modules/4.7.2-201.fc24.x86_64/kernel/drivers/platform/x86/asus-nb-wmi.ko.xz
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 2292 Aug 26 13:01 /lib/modules/4.7.2-201.fc24.x86_64/kernel/drivers/platform/x86/asus-wireless.ko.xz

Laptops get a lot of their unique behaviors like function keys and multimedia controls from their specific laptop modules, I have a toshiba and it loads:
Quote:
lsmod | grep toshiba
toshiba_acpi 45056 0
sparse_keymap 16384 1 toshiba_acpi
wmi 16384 1 toshiba_acpi
toshiba_bluetooth 16384 0
toshiba_haps 16384 0
rfkill 24576 6 cfg80211,toshiba_acpi,toshiba_bluetooth
video 40960 2 i915,toshiba_acpi
for the ones that are missing, try to make them load as root with:
Quote:
modprobe asus-laptop
for example if that one wasn't loaded, then see if the functions work
