Wireless as wired?

Hey I just finished installing Fedora Core 5 on my Acer TravelMate 290 and everything has worked a dream with 1 exception

Under Network Configuration, Hardware I see the following
Description: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter
Type: Ehternet - (This is the problem its a Wireless Device and not Ethernet)
Status: ok

Details on the Card
Intel: WM2B2100
IC: 1000-WM3B2100

So when I activate the Card I get

Determining IP information for
eth1...SIOSCSIFFLAGS: Resource temorarily unavailable
SIOSIFFLAGS: Resources temporily unavailable

Whats the ifconfig commmand to change it to wireless please, im lost?

something like "ifconfig eth1 hw wireless"?
