Problems configuring Web Request Tracker (WebRT) with Apache

Hi all,
I'm very new to setting up servers but I am trying to install Web Rt but getting the following error when trying to display the index page in a web browser (http://localhost/rt3/)

You're almost there!
You haven't yet configured your webserver to run RT.

You appear to have installed RT's web interface correctly, but haven't
yet configured your web server to "run" the RT server which powers the
web interface.

The next step is to edit your webserver's configuration file to instruct
it to use RT's mod_perl, fastcgi or speedycgi handler.

If anyone can provide any example httpd.conf scripts for configuring RT or any additional information on mod_perl it would be much appreciated.

As far as I can tell mod_perl has been installed.
