Welcome to the Forums
Not sure I follow exactly what you have done?

Which Desktop Environment are you using?

I have installed Fedora 11 on my Sony Vaio PCG K45 with P4 processor, 1 GB RAM and 3.06 GHz with ATI Radeon IGP 345.
also Installed CCSM too.

when I press ctrl+Alt+left/right then a white screen comes. and moves, but I can not see any thing else other than that..
anyone encountered the same problem?

I need to work on that more.. thanks again..

I'm having exactly the same problem. It was working yesterday, and then I've rebooted a few times, and installed some updates available in yum tonight. Now I cannot switch workspaces by clicking in the workspace switcher, nor can I use CTRL-ALT-LEFT_ARROW/RIGHT_ARROW.

I ran 'xev' and it seems that my keystrokes are valid (CTRL_L + ALT_L + LEFT_ARROW)

If I turn off special effects, it works. So it might be compiz related.

This is very frustrating; I don't have any diagnostic info available to help figure out what's going on ... I'd appreciate it if someone could explain the inner working of what seems like a black box to me.

I can probably blow away the .config/compiz and similar directories in my home directory, but I'd like to figure out exactly what's causing this so I can fix it again if it ever happens again.

same problem

I've had the same problem since FC8. Once I enable desktop effects I can't switch workspaces anymore. Anyone have any leads as to what might be causing this?
