    how to add a folder of pictures to gnome appearance settings

    how to add a folder of wallpapers such that they appear in the appearance settings when i right click and click on "change background"

    i have dumped all the wallpapers in /usr/share/backgrounds/ but i dont see the appearance settings show my wallpapers...

    lol but there are like 3000 images...and i could not add them all at once..

    if only i could know where appearance settings keeps the index of the files it adds (and displays)...
