Am I missing something or is there no kmod-nvidia for kernel (yet)?

There is no kmod-nvidia for the new kernel yet. You can wait till it's in the repos, or try installing akmod-nvidia.

I tried that, but it didn't work for some reason, perhaps due to the driver version problem...
I guess I'll wait it out (or keep booting the older kernel until the kmod is available).

Nvidia 185.18.31 problem

I finally succeeded in getting X686 PAE to behave. 185.18.31 was the problem for me.

I did the following:

yum erase *185.18.31* which removed many of the kmods I had installed.

then yum install kmod-nvidia-PAE which reinstalled using 185.18.14.

A reboot later and I have video.
