installing hp D1668 on Fedora 7 ...

i hav Pentium 4; 1.8GHz processor running Fedora 7and an
deskjet hp printer D1668 printer , how to install it on the system i hav got hplip 3.11.3a.tar.gz....
how to install the printer its written there that only Fedora 12 and above hav installer......
please Help......

Also i want to hav resolution as 1024x768 i hav made required settings from System--> Preferences --> Hardware --> Screen Resolution
but sometimes system takes by default as 800x600 how to put Resoluitn as 1024x768.....
