Znc problem

As root (I figured I had to be root to do this) I typed in znc --makeconf to run vnc. I want to get on the fedora chat in IRC and would like not to stick my ip address out there for all to see.

I got back a warning saying:

You are running ZNC as root! Don't do that! There are not many valid
[ ** ] reasons for this and it can, in theory, cause great damage!

I then exited root. Is there anything I need to do to undo what I did when I typed znc --makeconf in root?

Re: Znc problem

Probably not, but you can delete any configuration files it may have created.

Just make sure you use version 204 or better. This is the reason for the warning http://lists.fedoraproject.org/piper...ry/072984.html

Re: Znc problem

I read through the update but I didn't understand the reason for the warning. What is the danger in running znc as root?

Also, how do I know if ZNC created any configuration files?
