gedit error

I just recently started getting this, and I don't know why.
(gedit:5291): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session manager:
Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.

You used "su" instead of "su -" to switch users. The - is the login option which sets up the environment of the new user.
