How to adjust autohide delay in Gnome panel?

How do I adjust the autohide delay time for the Gnome panel? I tried System Tools->Configuration Editor then apps->panel->global. I adjusted both panel_hide_delay and panel_show_delay (and panel_minimized_size), but they seemed to have absolutely no effect. I logged out, restarted X, and still no effect.

Basically, I want the panel to unhide without delay. Can I make that happen?

In configuration editor goto /apps/panel/toplevels/ and then adjust the delays as you like for the top or bottom panel.

Thanks, that did it. I was in "apps/panel/globals" instead of "apps/panel/toplevel", which had no effect.

Out of curiousity, what does "apps/panel/globals" control?
