Sound Issues

I'm experiencing some weird sound problems.. I can hear sound when logged on as a regular user, but not as root. Is there any reason, and any fix for this?

I'm not usually logged in as root, so it's not a HUGE problem, but these types of things bug me..

One, you should never log on as root, rather run su - through a terminal and do whatever needs to be done through the shell. Two, as for it bugging you don't let it. As for an answer to how to solve the problem, I'm just as stumped as you are!
